Our Medical Director, Charles I. Okorie, MD is now an Aviation Medical Examiner
With great pleasure, the Fair Lakes Urgent Care Center Management team announces the recent designation of our Founder and Medical Director, Dr. Charles Okorie, as an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). This designation followed his recent successful completion of the Aviation Medicine Course and subsequent certification by the Civil AeroSpace Medical Institute of the FAA. With this certification and designation, he joins a handful of physicians in the US who are authorized to perform medical examinations for pilots and air traffic controllers as required by the FAA. Our Director is now a designated Civil Surgeon for the Immigration and Naturalization Service
Our Medical Director, Dr. Charles Okorie, is now a Civil Surgeon for the U.S. Department of Justice - Bureau of Citizenshp and Immigration Service (BCIS). By this designation, he joins a handful of physicians in the US who are authorized to perform medical examinations for aliens applying for Permanent Resident Status (Green Card) as well as the benefits defined under the Immigration and Nationality Act. In an effort to continue providing “Quality, Convenient Medical Care” to our patients, we are taking medical care to the next level. With the dawn of the new century and improving web technology, the Internet is quickly becoming the standard medium for patient-doctor communication. We are therefore delighted to mention that being one of the first medical organizations in our region to realize this phenomenon through our web site, we are now marching forward to provide a more interactive web site that links medicine and the Internet.
The new site still retains the ease of navigation and functionality of our prior site; but what we have now is more interactive and more intuitive. You can download most of our office forms and fill them at the comfort of your home and at your pace before coming for a visit. Not only do we expect this approach to save you and our staff time, but that you will be more forthcoming with details because you are not rushed. Our Medical Director is now a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO)
Following his successful completion of the Medical Review Officer Certification Council (MROCC) examination on December 3, 2000, our Medical Director and Founder, Dr Charles Okorie, is now a certified MRO. By this achievement, he joins a handful of experts in the US who are licensed physicians with a solid knowledge of substance abuse disorders and the background training required to review and interpret positive drug test results.
