Charles "Chas" Okorie, M.D.:.
Dr. Okorie, our Medical Director and Founder, has been a certified diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, since September 1992. He was accepted into medical school at the age of 15 and subsequently graduated from the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, Nigeria, in 1986. He completed his residency in 1992, at Howard University Hospital, Washington, D.C., where he also served as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine. Dr Okorie successfully completed one year of Clinical Fellowship, in Critical Care Medicine, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, but subsequently chose to concentrate on urgent care medicine where he is able to put into good use his vast experience in the fields of critical care medicine and primary care. He also practices Internal Medicine at the urgent care facility, while maintaining his critical care skills, in local Intensive Care Units.
Dr. Okorie's clinical interest includes Asthma, Obesity Management, Diabetes, and Hypertension. He also participates in clinical conferences locally. He gives lectures to hospital staff and contributes articles to medical publications. He currently holds admitting privileges at Fair Oaks and Fairfax Hospitals. From 1994-1999, Dr Okorie held the position of a part time Intensivist, at Doctors Community Hospital, Lanham, Maryland and from 1994-1995 was one of the Intensivists at the Cardiothoracic ICU, Washington Hospital, Washington PA.
Most recently, Dr. Okorie, has been designated an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). This designation followed his recent successful completion of the Aviation Medicine Course and subsequent certification by the Civil AeroSpace Medical Institute of the FAA. With this certification and designation, he joins a handful of physicians in the US who are authorized to perform medical examinations for pilots and air traffic controllers as required by the FAA.
Dr. Okorie, has also been designated a Civil Surgeon for the U.S. Department of Justice - Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS). By this designation, he joins the list of INS approved licensed physicians who are authorized to perform medical examinations for aliens applying for Permanent Resident Status (Green Card) as well as the benefits defined under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Dr Okorie is also a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO); one of a handful of experts in the US who are licensed physicians with a solid knowledge of substance abuse disorders and the background training required to review and interpret positive drug test results. He serves as an MRO for Loudoun Hospital, VA and several corporations in the Northern Virginia.

Karuna Narayanan
Dr.(Mrs) Narayanan is our staff physician and has been with our urgent care center since August, 2003. She is board certified in Family Practice. Dr. Narayanan completed her internship and residency in Family Practice at Bethesda Hospital, Cincinnati, OH in June 2003. She completed her medical school training from Medical College, Calicut in 1995. She also has additional certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). 
She is also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Narayanan's clinical interest includes urgent care medicine, pediatrics and preventive medicine.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
